Activate Whisper mode
Step 2: Tap the More tab located at the bottom right. Step 3: Tap Settings on the list. Step 4: Scroll down and tap Voice Responses listed under Alexa Preferences. Step 5: Tap the toggle next to Whisper Mode to enable this feature.
Don't want to wake up a sleeping partner or family member when you ask Alexa for the weather in the morning or turn off the alarm? Whisper Mode allows you to whisper to Alexa, and she'll whisper her response back to you.
You can change the wake word directly on your Echo device using voice commands. Say “Alexa, change your wake word.” Alexa will say “OK, you can choose from Amazon, Computer, Echo, or Ziggy — which of these do you like?”
You can also choose if you want to be able to turn off the Profanity Filter using a voice command. If you enable this you will be able to turn off the Profanity Filter by saying “Alexa, turn off the explicit content filter” or “Alexa, turn off the profanity filter.
Super Alexa mode is activated with the famous Konami Code, also known as the Contra Code. It invokes a silly response that sometimes includes an obscure League of Legends reference. It's an Easter egg rather than a practical feature.
Ziggy was picked as a wake word to contrast with Alexa and highlight the other end of the alphabet to suggest the voice assistant is a source of all knowledge. Users can ask Alexa to change either or both features if they choose. Having Ziggy as a wake word does offer a couple of extra bonus features.
Amazon have added a new wake word for their devices in tribute to David Bowie – “Ziggy”. “Ziggy” is the fifth wake word option for Echo devices in addition to “Alexa”, “Amazon”, “Computer” and “Echo”.
Unfortunately, you can't give it a unique name, so you have to pick from the above options. If you want to change the name, just say "Alexa, change the wake word" and choose another option. Or if you're not near your Echo speaker, you can open the Alexa app and navigate to Settings.
To do this, give the command "Alexa announce" and say all the uncensored profanities you want to share. Then, Alexa will repeat it to everyone, exactly the way you said it.
While you can place calls to anyone in your contacts using your Amazon Echo speaker, you can't use it to directly call 911 or other emergency numbers. This is because it's not connected to a phone line. Amazon says if you need to call 911, you'll need to use your cell phone, landline phone or other telephone services.
Does Alexa spy on what you say?
You may wonder if Alexa is listening to conversations, or listening to everything you say. You may want to know whether Alexa listens to you when you're not directly interacting with an Echo device. The answer to those questions is no. Alexa and all of our Echo devices are designed with your privacy in mind.
It's a legendary cheat code, which has been introduced to Alexa and Siri as an Easter egg. The 'Super Mode' doesn't actually do anything, but instead is a whimsical tribute to the iconic video game cheat. The code to say is: “Alexa, Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start”, as revealed on TikTok.

Say "Alexa, up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, start." Alexa will respond "Super Alexa mode activated. Starting reactors, online. Enabling advanced systems, online.

Can you change Alexa's response to commands?
To do this, simply tap the Customized option on the Alexa Says screen and type in what you'd like Alexa to say in response. Your response can be any phrase up to 250 characters. If you're wondering (let's be real, you are wondering), you can't make Alexa curse. Any profanities you use will be bleeped out.
There are two ways you can change the voice of Alexa on your Echo devices: through the device itself or through the Alexa app. Doing it through the device is the easiest option and takes just a few seconds. Changing the voice only applies to the Echo device you're currently using or accessing through the app.
With 0 being mute and 10 being the loudest, you can ask Alexa to change the volume to a specific level. For example, say, "Alexa, set the volume to 6," or simply say "Alexa, volume 6." Alexa also understands volume via percentage.
A: This helped mine a little with the same issue. In the Alexa app go to settings - under Alexa preferences go to voice responses and turn on adaptive volume.
No, you can't. Nevertheless, an obvious solution to this problem is to integrate a biometric vocal identification system in Alexa. If done, Alexa could just ignore you if you are not an authorized user. But this is not an easy thing to accomplish.
