A - is the highest grade you can receive on an assignment, and it's between 90% and 100% B - is still a pretty good grade! This is an above-average score, between 80% and 89% C - this is a grade that rests right in the middle. C is anywhere between 70% and 79%
Thus, an A is a 95, halfway between 90 and 100. An A- is a 91.25, halfway between 90 and 92.5. Etc. Grades between these are averages. For example, an A/A- is numerically (95+91.25)/2=93.125, which is an A slightly lower than 95/A.

Is a D Considered Passing? A letter grade of a D is technically considered passing because it not a failure. A D is any percentage between 60-69%, whereas a failure occurs below 60%. Even though a D is a passing grade, it's barely passing.
The academic performance of student is evaluated and graded at the end of each term in accordance with the prescribed grading system. The grading system is uniform using number grades in multiples of 0.25 from 1.0 to 5.0 where 1.0 is the highest and 3.0 as the lowest passing grade.
For example, a student who gets the minimum mark necessary for a Grade A* obtains a percentage uniform mark of 90.

Don't kid yourself: C is a bad grade, and D is even worse. Most students in college are getting A's and B's (at many schools the average grade-point average is between B and B+). So if your quizzes and tests are coming back with C's and D's, be aware that you are learning virtually nothing in the courses you're taking.
P Pass No grade point credit. Applies only to nondevelopmental studies courses. Pass grades carry academic credit but are not included within GPA calculations.

Why is A positive blood important? A positive makes up almost a third of requests for blood from hospitals so we need to maintain a regular supply. Platelets from A positive donations are also important. Last year more A positive platelets were issued to hospitals than any other blood type.
