How to Turn Valet Mode On & Off, Compustar Alarm, CM7000
You will first need to locate your system's "valet switch". It is a small, black, momentary button that is usually mounted in an accessible, but not obvious location towards the bottom of the driver's side dash.
The valet switch allows you to temporarily bypass all alarm functions, eliminating the need to hand your transmitter to parking attendants or garage mechanics. When the system is in valet mode, all alarm functions are bypassed, however the remote panic feature and remote door locks will remain operational.
Insert your ignition key and turn it to Accessory (or press the start button once without pushing the brake pedal). Press the Lock button on your remote car starter. Within five seconds of turning it on, turn your key back to the "off" position (or press the start button again).
Dead key fob battery
A bad battery in the key fob is most commonly the reason for a failure to send signals to the keyless entry system. If it is available, use the spare key fob to open the vehicle and start the ignition. If the spare fob is not available, use the provided key embedded in the fob to unlock the door.
It is usually located under the dash on the driver or passenger side. It is a plastic box with wires coming out of it.
Several sports cars also have smart technology valet keys. In essence, the key is intended for people to give to valets to park their cars or to repair shops to use. The valet key will open the car door and start the car but will prevent someone from unlocking the glove box or the trunk.
Valet mode disables all system features other than lock or unlock; such as, remote start, alarm triggers, and trunk release.
Since valet keys basically have the same function as regular car keys except that they cannot open certain storage facilities in your vehicle, you (or the person who has it) can use it to drive your car anywhere you want to go. There's no limit to the distance as long as your car has gas.
Does valet mode need a key?
However, the valet will require your physical Tesla key fob or key card to operate the car. They can not deactivate Valet Mode without the 4-digit pin. Without the key, the driver can only drive your Tesla until they exit the vehicle; they cannot start it again unless you give them access from your app.
How Much Does It Cost To Buy A Valet Key? A valet key is an inexpensive way to have a spare key. Depending on the brand of vehicle, you can get one made for $50 or less. Your local dealership will be able to make you one in a short amount of time.

Valet mode is a setting/feature your remote starter has, that allows you to disable the ability to remote start the vehicle. It is designed to be used when you take your vehicle in for service or if you are lending the vehicle out and wish to prohibit (ie turn off) the ability to remote start the vehicle.
Press and release the foot brake pedal 10 times within 10 seconds. This procedure will only deactivate Valet Mode, it will not activate Valet Mode. The vehicles parking lights should flash twice to indicate the system has exited valet mode.
