It’s honestly hard for me to grasp the fact that 2016 will be over in just a few hours. We began this year in Rome, half way through our honeymoon backpacking trip to 6 countries in Europe. It feels like yesterday when we were out by the Colosseum, walking along a big street full of people with big smiles on their faces, excitedly celebrating a new year to come. After Rome, we were also in Athens, Budapest, and Paris before flying home to the States.
Fast forward, in March, Hugh and I did another trip to Miami with our best friends. We successfully arranged a few road trips and small trips every two months or so in 2016. I’d call that a success. I used to wish for more travels, more trips, more flights, more being somewhere else but here… but looking back, it was not only the destination that counted but also everything else in between. I want to be happy wherever I am.
2016 might not be a terrific year for me but it is the year of some new experience. The whole summer was filled with new photography experience that threw me out of my comfort zone completely. I was scared and often challenged, which felt great. I also met and worked with many new photographers in town; some of them even became my good friends. This is definitely the busiest year since I moved to Boston.
I can say that 2017 will be the year full of new beginnings. It is a stressful time for our family as Hugh is wrapping up his PhD in May, but we both have exciting plans and can’t wait to begin 2017 on a high note.
Thank you for the endless support, you guys! It has been a great year. Let’s create more memories with our beloved people and may you never be afraid to follow your heart.
With the amount of photos that I took monthly, it’s incredibly tough to pick out favorite photos to sum up for an entire year. Here’re some highlights of my 2016.
